Building Safety Alliance

Our experience in the electrical industry has proved to us that specialty electrical inspection is the most efficient, cost effective and successful way to insure public safety. A well trained, experienced electrical inspector enforcing the National Electric Code, NFPA, Title 24 of the California Energy Efficiency Standards and Local Codes can guide electrical contractors to a safe and code compliant installation.

David Green, Treasurer

• Grew up in the Eureka Valley neighborhood of San Francisco. His father was a shipwright and carpenter, and his brother is a retired inside wireman. In 2014, he retired as a Senior Electrical Inspector from San Francisco Department of Building Inspection after 24 years in the Department.
  
• Previously, after serving in the US Navy, he was an inside wireman, foreman and estimator for various electrical contractors for 16 years. In 1998, he started teaching Electrical Apprentices and Journeymen evening classes in various aspects of the electrical industry.
  
• Currently, he maintains his certification as an electrical plan reviewer from the International Association of Electrical Inspectors, and works one day a week as a plan reviewer for the San Francisco International Airport.
  

James Reed, Director

Henry Karnilowicz, Director

• Completed an electrical apprenticeship at the Ford Motor Company. Prior to leaving Australia was promoted to electrical supervisor at the age of 23 on a large nickel mining plant construction project
  
• In 1969 in South Africa worked as an electrician at the port in Cape Town and also on commercial projects
  
• In 1972 in San Francisco earned a General Contractors license, Electrical Contractors license and Plumbing Contractors license in 1975 and started my own business, Occidental Express
  
• I have an Associate’s Degree in Building Inspection
  
• Member of the San Francisco Code Advisory Committee, the ICC (International Codes Council) and Associate Member of the AIA (American Institute of Architects)
